Programs for Newcomers/Immigrant Children and Families

Offers a variety of early years and family programs to support the needs of newcomer and underserved children, along with the wellbeing of the entire family.
DIVERSEcity provides a space that is child-centered, culturally responsive and empowering so newcomer and diverse parents have the tools they need to support the healthy development of their children.
They provide parenting education, early childhood development, home visits, nutrition information, counselling support, referrals to community programs, one-on-one case management and help in building social networks with other families.

  • IMPACT Parenting Program for immigrant parents
  • Behaviour Intervention Program for Families
  • Early Years Outreach Services for Newcomers + Weekly Drop-in
  • Child and Youth Day Camps
  • Unity in Immunity
  • Family Counselling
  • Child and Youth Mental Health Counselling
  • PEACE Program for children and youth who witness abuse
  • Healthy Self, Healthy Families Program (part of the RISE program)

  • Self-referral

Details: To be eligible for the First Steps Program, must be Government Assisted, Privately Sponsored or Convention Refugee. Children/Youth Mental Health and Achieving Balance for Children program require referral forms. Others - please email for referral.
