Peer Navigator Program - For Individuals With Mental Illness and/or Addictions

Provided by Canadian Mental Health Association (CMHA) - Vancouver Fraser Branch

Peer-based support programs that promote mental health and well-being by connecting individuals with others who have lived experience with mental health challenges and/or addiction.
Pair with a peer to find support from someone with lived experience in the following areas:
  • Housing: assistance with BC Housing apps, shelters
  • Healthcare: A family doctor, dental clinics, and health centers
  • Legal: Free or low-cost legal and advocacy services
  • Income: taxes, PWD apps, income assistance and employment
  • Mental Health: counselling, addictions, and personal recovery goals
  • Population-specific: Immigrants/refugees, BIPOC, disability and LGBTQ2S+ services
Program Eligibility:
  • Be at least 17 years of age
  • Reside in Vancouver or Burnaby* (address not required)
  • Self-identify as having mental health/substance use challenges
  • Not currently be receiving services from a formal Community Mental Health Team
Drop-In Sessions are available at:
  • Mount Pleasant Community Centre: Wednesdays from 11:00AM – 12:30PM
  • Mount Pleasant Library: Last Tuesday of the month from 1:00PM – 3:00PM
