Urgent care response centres support adults (19 years and older) who are experiencing mental health and substance use concerns and who voluntarily seek and require urgent care, but do not require hospitalization.
Roshni Clinic is a supportive adult (19 years and older) program for men and women of the South Asian community. It addresses problems associated with alcohol and drug use.
Services are provided in English, Punjabi and Hindi by health care providers who specialize in substance use disorder.
Services include:
- Intake and assessment.
- Ongoing treatment for problems associated with alcohol and drug use.
- One-time consultations for family doctors who would like recommendations on managing a patient with alcohol and drug use disorder.
- A holistic, patient-centred approach, with a strong focus on the cultural context and issues specific to members of the South Asian community.
- Services are provided in English, Punjabi, and Hindi, and are open to all those who self-identify as South Asian including those of Punjabi, Indian, Bangladeshi, and Pakistani descent.
- Medical management of second stage withdrawal symptoms and substance use, including Methadone, Suboxone and other medications, one-to-one counselling, psychosocial educational groups, education and support for families, and telehealth appointments by phone or computer for select patients.
- Referral to other supportive programs.
Eligibility
Men and women (19 years and older) struggling with physical and mental health issues associated with alcohol and drug use.

Individuals can contact the Roshni Clinic at 604-953-6190 or can ask for a referral from the following:
- Family doctor or other health care provider.
- Community substance use services clinics.
- Withdrawal management centre (detox/daytox).
- Sobering centre.

Hours of operation: Monday - Tuesday 8:30 AM - 4:30 PM and Wednesday - Thursday 8:30 AM - 8:30 PM (Closed: Friday - Sunday and statutory holidays.)
Located in the Quibble Creek Health and Transition Housing Building on the south side of Surrey Memorial Hospital across 94 A Avenue. If you are facing the building, there is a side walk bordered by a red fence on the right hand side. Proceed down the sidewalk until the end and our front doors are to the left.
Service is available in English, Hindi, and Punjabi.
