English Language Studies offers a range of courses and program options designed to give individuals the skills and confidence they need to succeed in academic and professional environments where English is the main language of communication.
The English Language Studies (ELS) department at UFV offers full-time and part-time classes in the English language. The program includes courses for speaking, listening, grammar, vocabulary, reading, and writing as well as elective courses such as Business English and Pronunciation. This is a great option for landed immigrants who want to improve their English to open new career opportunities
Students who wish to take university-level courses may do so either by completing upper-level Bridge ESL or EAP courses or by taking both upper-level EAP courses and academic courses through the University Foundation program. There are no tuition fees for ESL courses. Courses are provided in person and online.
